Can't Install Java
I use two programs that uses java. computer lost sun java. still shows in programs install/remove. cannot remove (to reinstall). gives message "error applying transforms. verify that the specified paths are valid". I downloaded 'Sun Java' and all went well until the install. Gave me the same message. Have restored 3 times different dates. same message. running Windows ME. HELP!!!!!!!

Have you tried virus / malware scans? I have heard of Java Viruses (never had one myself) which can mess stuff up pretty bad. If you don't have an anti-virus, you can use an online scanner like TrendMicro.

also make sure when installing java all ur firewalls are disabled(just had problem where friend couldn't install java because of norton
