Lightbulb Copy Windows Files

Ok the basic facts

I have One computer
I have 2 hard drives
Both hard drives have Xp on them
The first one Has all my IMPORTANT files on them
The second is my backup and is what im using now
The first one has a windows dll problem and wont load as the master
because the first one has the permisions set to it, I cant get the files if it is a slave to hard drive 2 ( the working one )

So i can not get to my Very Important files.

I have tried Numerous things.

I have tried booting from disc and repairing, But there is no R option !!!
I have tried Loads a stuff and i am running out of ideas

I wonder tho ! And this is my question

Can i copy the windows files from hard drive 2 and overright hard drive one's files And would this load my windows up ?

Can i just copy the windows strait accross to make my hard drive load ?

Maybe i should just copy system32 over ?????? Im not sure, Can you help me ?

What happens when you try to copy the "very important files" off the other drive?

robcraige - EzyStvy, glc, & I have all given you the link to the procedure to gain ownership of the files (this should take care of the permissions problem, and enable you to copy files as needed: to removeable media or otherwise). It seems something in that procedure is going awry?
