My Computer - Blank
if i go to My Computer - nothing shows in there...
i can use the pulldown menu to select the drives and that seems to work i reset all folder view properties back to default... same outcome... i ran a sfc /scannow - same outcome, no issues found i changed the ribbon going from the cdrom to mobo - (cdrom not working was the reason the computer is being repaired - then i noticed My Computer was empty) any ideas? |

If everything was working OK earlier, you should be able to use System Restore for this. Usually such trouble is Registry related.
System Restore - Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore Use a restore point from before the My Computer display's disappearing act. Best of luck . . . Gary [P.S. run thorough full-system malware scans, too, this sort of thing can be traced to virus/trojan/worm infection] |

I have to agree with Gary's last remark. Most times I have seen this it was related to trojan or virus infection. Go to www.Ewido.com and use their online scanner.
