Windows update keeps failing

what would cause windows update to fail on a certain update? I seem to remember that by deleting a certain file this problem was solved. Or can I rollback windows to a particular date?

Send a message via MSN to bob_man_uk
when you say it fails does it download it then keep prompting you to download it again? or something else entirely?

give this a shot http://www.updatexp.com/windows-upda...prompting.html failing that check all your services are running properly.

are you running zonealarm with security settings set to "automatic"?
if so, change it to "manual" and allow the "microsoft installation..." (or whatever it's called)to run.
