Cd Burner Problem
For some reason my Sony CRX225E CD has developed a problem when trying to erase RW discs. When i select erase it shows it erasing then when it gets to the last bar of erase it starts again and repeats this ad-infinitum. Unable to cancel and in fact it locks up computer and there is no way to cancel apart from rebooting computer. Whilst it is locked the normal indicator on front of CD burner continues to flash. The burner tray is locked as well, cannot eject without reboot.I have tried both Nero and CopytoDVD, both the same.The CD burner still burns OK.
My Sony DW-U14A DVD burner is OK using Nero and CopytoDVD. Any ideas please? |

Did you get the RW erase problem solved already? If not: have you tried with different brands of media? Sometime a firmware update can help for quizzical problems like this. Let's hope it's not the drive failing (which is a possibility). . . . Gary |
