reinstalling XP on old Sony Vaio

I'm reinstalling Windows XP on a laptop who belongs to a friend of mine. It's been screwed up with viruses and such and he wants it wiped completely clean and start fresh and new. It's an old PIII Sony Vaio PCG-FX340 (I believe). Once the installation is complete do I need to download drivers and such? And where would I find them? I've searched (briefly) the sony website. A point in the right direction would be appreciated

Nice laptop - I bought the model just prior to that one for my father a few years ago: still runs like the day it came home. I'm not a big fan of the Sony software, or the odd partitioning they use on some models, so I re-did my father's laptop right away (customized it a bit, and simplified menus & such). Since you're reinstalling, this is your chance to arrange it to your liking (as opposed to Sony's method = which is to get you to buy more Sony accessories, programs, and electronics).

Here's the page for your model. Links are there for whatever you might need. http://esupport.sony.com/perl/model-...PCGFX340&LOC=3

Best of luck
