BSOD and random crashing in win XP pro SP2
I've been having a lot of problems with my desktop PC lately. It's been crashing a lot, even when just standing still. In fact, I usually don't have any crashes when running high end applications (games).
Sometimes I get the BSOD (the last time it said something like IRQ less or equal than), sometimes the scree just goes black and other times I just get a random reboot. Already checked for viruses and there were none found. I'm starting to think that it may be a hardware problem but I have no idea what it could be. I've already checked for dust and things are normal. |

Has this always been a problem with your PC? If not when did it start happening?
What are your PC specs? |

No. It's started being a problem during the past month or so and has gotten worse during the last week. I've had at least one crash per day.
My specs are those in my signature. Plus a new MSI wireless PCI card. I haven't done any overclocking or anything. I should also add that my motherboard runs with a 133Mhz FSB but the RAM can run at 166MHZ (333MHZ DDR or PC 2700) but it's currently using 2 sticks of PC 3200 DDR RAM @333MHZ DDR. I have never overclocked this CPU not the memory or the video card. The PC stays on most of the time. The components have various ages. The memory is about 6 months old, the video card is a year and a half, the processor is almost 2.5 years old, the HDD is two years old, the burner is 1.5 years and the Motherboard is 3.5 years old. I don't know if it helps but I've also had to replace the PSU many times (about 4-5 times) but this is mainly because I've been unable to find good PSUs (mostly Codegen, Omega or other useless brands). However, this latests PSU has lasted for almost 1.5 years now. |

What exactly did you install/upgrade on your system roughly a month ago? Did you notice the problem after a Windows upgrade? There has to be a catalyst to this problem unless it is hardware related.

I did install a wireless card. I also upgraded to WIn XP from win 2k about 4 months ago. But during the past week I haven't done anything special with the PC
