corrupt profile in windows 2000
A friend of mine is having this problem with her computer. When she tries to log into her profile it says the profile is corrupt and a temporary profile is created and logged into. She can't access any of her personal files and all of her installed programs seem to have disappeared. Basically, it's as if the system has reverted to its original settings (right after installation). She also can't log in through safe mode. Any suggestions are appreciated

There's not much you can do. You can log in as Administrator and try to get at the personal files that way, but a lot of software is going to have to be reinstalled.
