Delayed Boot
When I restart or boot my computer, I get the welcome screen and then my desktop background, and then it just stops doing anything. The boot process just pauses for about 3 or 4 minutes. Its not frozen, everything is smooth there are 29 processes running, but no start bar or icons or anything. I can bring up the taskman and run things, but if I kill explorer.exe and restart it with the Run command, I wont get any of my startup programs (security, IM software, utilities, etc..). After 3 or 4 minutes, everything resumes as normal and processes startup and the boot finishes. I have updated all my security software and run scans for SAMware but nothing was found. I have disabled unecessary boot services and programs but that hasn't changed anything.
Any ideas or programs that layout the your boot process for ya? |
