Auto logon

The last two computers I had running XP Pro, I had set up to log all the way in, without me having to click on my account, or type any password etc. I would download that Tweak UI program, then go into AUTO Logon, and check the box at the top telling it to automatically log in. I did the same thing this time with my new computer also running XP Pro, but it does not seem to keep the setting. It may last a time or two logging in, but then the next time I need to click on my account again to log in. If I go into that Tweak UI program, I see the box has become "unchecked". I tried deleting and reinstalling that program, but no luck. I looked up how to set the computer to automatically log in by changing some entries in the registry. I really do not want to do that. I would rather just click on my account to log in. Why is that Tweak UI program not working this time ? Is there another way ?

Go to Start...Run. Type "control userpasswords2" without the quotes. Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and a password to use this computer" and then enter your account information.

doctorgonzo--that box was NOT checked. However I clicked apply, and OK anyway. Will see what happens.

The computer now seems to be loggimg in at startup OK the last several times. However if I go away for a while, and the screensaver come on, and then when I come back and move the mouse or anything, I get that logon screen again.

Go to you screensaver options, and make sure "On Resume, password protect" is unchecked.
