Disk Management is disabled
I am working on a computer at work running WinXP Home and when I click on Disk Management it says "The logical disk manager service is disabled". The Add or Remove program doesn't work correctly also. It starts to populate and just stops in the a's (about 7 or 8 programs down. Any suggestions? Dave

Hey, sounds like trouble. I have a couple of suggestions:
a.) run AV and malware scans. b.) find out if there are any system services that have been stopped. When I run across computers acting up, more times than not it has some sort of malware problem. !@#$ script kiddies. Hope this helps. |

I agree with DT. First step I would take is to run an online scan in Safe Mode with Networking at Ewido.net. Follow that up with scans using Adaware and Spybot. And finally, if the problem persists, run a scan at Trendmicro.com and use the Housecall virus scanner.
