can't disable scanner program at startup

win98se
Epson Smartpanel

when I disable Epson Smartpanel (scanner s.w.) in MSConfig and reboot, the program still ends up in the systray at system startup. I've tried contacting Epson and Newsoft (smartpanel author) but just get the runaround. Any ideas how to fix this so the program won't start at system start? thanks.

If your right click on the icon is there an "options" option that will let you disable it?

Might also look in Startup folder and remove any shortcuts found for the scanner.

thanks EzyStvy,
I just dragged the entry out of the "Startup" folder and dropped it in the "disabled startup" folder....rebooted and it worked.......
I don't know why I didn't think if this, always look for the easy way out first.
thanks again....
