Windows Defender
Opinions please on the new Windows Defender program that is replacing the older, and soon to be discontinued, Antispyware program. I have read bad reviews about it, saying it is not as good and also causes slowdowns ?

It's basically MS AntiSpyware Beta 2. I don't find it much different than Beta 1 outside of the interface - there were some preliminary bugs that had to be worked out, but remember that the program is still a Beta.

I am pleased with it's performance - today it picked up 3 serve traces of Malware on a PC which all other apps deemed as clean. Lacks the tracks eraser of the prior version, though, and the original bugs were a headache - like using Windows Update to do the definition updates, which still doesn't seem to work properly.
