what can i do to avoid backing up and reinstalling?? can i get to a command prompt?? I tried a win98/me boot disk but thats not doin anything - and for some reason, i cant seem to boot directly to cd to try a repair... HELP! Last edited by ameilius; 03-23-2006 at 01:11 PM. |

Do a repair install from the Windows 2000 disk.

Is the CD set to be the first boot device in the BIOS? Is this a valid Windows 2000 install CD?

cd is set to the ONLY boot option - with "try other devices" OFF
and yes - its a valid install cd |

Make sure the CD is clean. Try another bootable CD to see if the drive works.
One way or another, you are going to have to find a way to boot from that CD. |
