trimming down xp start programs list

ok.......time to do some trimming down of the ole "start" "programs" list. For the life of me I can't remember where to go to combine the programs into folders of like items. Example, combining all my music programs into one folder labeled "music", photo editing programs into one folder, etc.........

I usually open the my documents folder, select file, new, folder, open a new folder, drag and drop (or cut and paste) items into it and then cut (or copy) and paste them where I wish them to go.

If you want to do the work right there in Windows Explorer, you'll go to C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Start Menu\Programs . . . to change things for just your logon. You'll also have to make the changes to the Start Menu for the All Users folder as well, since these appear to (of course) all users - the folder is in the same area -> C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu.

Right click on the start button - select Open All Users. This is the all users start menu. Then right click again on the start button and select Open. This is your personalized start menu. With those 2 windows open, move things around the way you want. You will see what is in BOTH start menus when you use the start menu, so don't duplicate stuff.
