splat Windows 2000 Pro Fax Service Problem

Ok I’m using a Windows 2000 Machine to send out faxes with some fax software I’ve purchased. But I’m not having any luck getting the Fax Service started when I go to the management console. I’ve tried changing the service to automatic and when I reboot and check on the service it still shows that I have to start the service even though it set to start automatically. When I attempt to start the service I get the following message “Could not start the Fax Service service on the local computer. The service did not return an error. This could be an internal Windows error or an internal service error. If the problem persists, contact your Systems Administrator.” I’m totally stumped on this one I’ve looked at the properties for Fax Service and it shows the path as C:\WINNT\system32\faxsvc.exe. I thought that this exe file might have become corrupted so I found another machine running Win2k and copied the faxsvc.exe file from that machine to the one that can’t start the service but to no avail. I’ve looked at the add and remove program to see if it was a windows component that I could remove then add again but with windows 2000 it seems integrated and not something that can be removed. If anyone has fought this battle I would greatly appreciate some help. Anyone who replies thanks !!
