Are you doing an over the top reinstallation, or have you formatted the drive? What error codes are you getting exactly?

Hi Kozy
I have most of the same questions Joe asked. More info will be helpful indeed. In the meantime, if you are in fact trying an over-the-top, there's a thread in our Tips & Tricks forum that covers the details (just in case you've overlooked something) http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=70846 [don't forget to disable the Bios Antivirus, for example, during the reinstall, and enable it again afterward] I'll guess that you've already spent some time cleaning up whatever infections were found - and have thoroughly scanned with several tools to make sure the hard drive is clean? [You can always slave the drive in another system, or place it in an external enclosure, and scan it that way] If you are getting errors that start with SU followed by a string of numbers, you can find the meaning of those error codes by visiting the Microsoft Knowledge Base. Good luck with your project . . . Gary |
