Question Virtual Dub VFW codecs?

Hi,

I've trying to use Vdub to trim a few avi files but i keep recieveing errors of "VirtualDub requires a compatiable Video For Windows codec..."

I've tried Xvid, DIVX3 and DIVX4 files and they all same the same error.

I can playy all these files in WMP, BS player, VLC, MPC even winamp!, but VDub says i dont ahve the codec!?

what am i missing?

thx glc, but i worked it out, seems like i installed my codec pack (k-lite) on the "Player only" option so it allowed me to play everything but not do any edits, i reinstalled the same pack onthe default settings and can now edit the files.
