CRASH bsod - STOP: 0x0000007B INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

Working on a Dell Optiflex 150 with W2K and I get.

STOP: 0x0000007B INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE with the bsod

Have not installed anything new or move any files, virus monitor did not indicate anything previous to the bsod and error code.

I've searched the web and it seems to me that the options are multiple to what I should try to do...

Should i try to virus scan the bootsector, chkdsk /f and then try to repair the MBR. Or could i possible repair windows 2000 without reinstalling the OS and repartitioning?

Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks for keeping this forum going you guys are the best

Is it the same procedure for W2K systems as for XP?

Many of the same steps can be taken on a Win2K machine. Scanning for viruses and doing a repair install are both possible steps you can take to fix this.
