Formating need to back up Outlook Express Help!!

One of my computers at work got a virus that I can't seem to get rid of no matter what virus scanner I use. Iam left with no choice but to format the hard drive. I have backed up all the folders I needed but I am wondering how to back up the 800+ messages in outlook express.
Is there a way to do it?
I am not sure what the virus we have is called but what it is doing is staying in the task bar as alert message that the computer is infected with malware. When you click on the Icon it takes you to some website to buy a bogus software. The name of it is Spyaxe.

Under option in the tools menu, and under the Maintenance tab, click on "Store Folder". Access that file location, save all the files to a folder in a temporary storage drive (thumb drive, CD, External HDD).

When recovering the file, Tools > Import > Messages. Select "MS Outlook Exp 6". After clicking next, locate the folder with all your contents on it. Or you could go to the file location and replace the files manually. However, I recommend the former method.

I have the same situation on a different computer now and I have to replace the hard drive.
Windows wont boot from the old hard drive so I have no access that way to Outlook Express.
I got the new hd and installed it, I hooked up the old hard drive to as a slave the computer recognized it, i went on the old hard drive to /programs files/outlook express and copied everything to /program files/outlook express on the new hard drive but when I open outlook express from the desk top, non of my messages or addresses are in there.
I found another thread on these forums but it does not explain how to in my situation.
I would appreciate the help.
Thanks

Windows 2k and XP usualy store the email files in a folder similar to this:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{E5C4B58E-0072-4A0E-BA21-DD32793F2322}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
