Registry/Spysherriff/icon highlight

Ok, long story short, i recently got infected with a virus called spysherriff
and i got rid of it by deleting folders and editing the registry. THe system is clean, however
i had to delete certain
registry keys to enable background changing. I managed to change the background, but now in Rightclick>>Wallpaper, the little color box on the bottom, affects my icons.

My icons are all highlighted gray/black/blue whatever the color box is set to.

ANy registry tweaks that will fix this. I really dont want to do a fresh install. I reapplied themes, and cleared keys but no help.....

Try a Repair install of XP. http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

It may also be a problem with video drivers. Remove them with Driver Cleaner and re-install.

Good riddance to SpySheriff. I caught it once, one of the worst malware infections I've seen.
