NTLDR missing

I foolishly erased a drive which had an unnecessary XP install on it and now my PC won't boot.
I had commented out the boot from the boot file in XP, but stupidly didn't in the Win2000 build, the one I actually use.
How can I boot the computer from the Win2000 build? And repair the boot ini file to tell it to ignore the now non-existant OS?
I've mislaid the XP boot disc, but have the Win2000 boot disc so can boot up a new OS.
Should I install another 2000 OS to get things working again, or should I edit the boot ini. Where would the boot ini be in WINNT?
The Bios recognises both the SATA drives no problem and when I booted up from the Win2000 CD in an attempt to repair my foolishness both the remaining OS builds are found, though with different drive letters. So hopefully I just need to fix the boot.ini.
I guess I could save it, once I find it, on to a floppy (I knew it would come in useful when I stuck it in a year ago), and edit it on the old computer then rename it and replace it with the modded one. Is that a good plan?

D
