My new pc, win Xp installed, seems to be everything alright, but eventhough ram installed 512, only OS showing 256, but BIOS indicates correct ram, What was the reason of wrong memory display? Can somebody answer this?

Please post the complete system specs of this computer. List the parts by brand and model including the power supply.
Does the motherboard have on-board video or are you using a video card? Cricket

Is your BIOS set to use 256MB RAM for the video? (Does it go that high?), if so, that is why, 256MB is reserved for video, 256MB for the system, so that is all XP will report.
