Windows XP boot up problem

Hello,

I am having a Windows XP boot problem. The system starts up post fine and gets to the Windows Logo loading screen. The blue bar moves back and forth and my Usb optical mouse lights up and the screen goes black like it is going to start and it just sits there. Eventually it reboots the computer. It will not boot in any mode let alone safe. Anyone have any suggestions. Can I look in a log or something to see where it is getting stuck? Thanks.

Ok I got it to boot to a blue screen of death. The error message reads:

Stop: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000018 (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shut down

Anyone have any ideas?

You may need to do a repair reinstall of XP. Procedures are in the Tips and Tricks forum.
