What kind of computer is it?

Common keys for getting into the BIOS include Esc, F1, F2, F10, Ins, Del, Tab. Mash them all until you get in.

I built it myself...It usually displays this "American Megatrends" screen...but now it doesn't!!!

That's an AMI BIOS; press the Del key to get in.

Perhaps I should tell you about the actual problem.
While putting into a large 100GB USB2 into the computer, the whole thing slowed down; we were not able to do much, so we rebooted. Strange, as it was working fine before.
So we then tested out my old 10GB USB1 drive...it worked perfectly!!!
What do you think might be the porblem???
Any help is much appreciated!

Are you talking about external drives or what exactly?

its probly not running anyslower, but taks a bit longer to read the data on the external drive.
as for the bios, the systems are so fast today, you got to start hitting that del key right away and keep hitting it as soon as it starts to boot. a lot of people have a hard time doing this cause there not as fast as the system is.

Well, it didn't seem like it. THough, I do recall that everytime I inserted the large, USB drives, the whole thing did slow down. The indicator lights, (green for power, yello for reading+writing) the yellow would sometimes never flash at all, and the computer would intolerably slow.

Please post the specs of your computer. List the parts by brand and model including the power supply.

Is the external HDD a pre-built one or did you assemble it yourself? If you did, what brand is the external housing and what HDD are you using?

Did you try this external HDD work on another computer? Did the same thing happen?
