Cannot open email attachment. When I click on "Open It," a box appears with header that says, Adobe Download Manager with message the download cannot continue, error parsing voucher I am a novice. In my search, I detect this has something to do with the file being .xls and needs to be converted to PDF. Am I on the right track? If so, what do I need to do? Thank You! |

Do you have either an Excel file viewer, or Microsoft Excel installed on your computer? If so, you can use those to view the attachment. (Save it to a place easy for you to find on your hard drive, then point either Excel or your Excel viewer to it).
To associate .xls files with either Excel or your Excel viewer, select an .xls file (you can do this in Windows Explorer) with a Shift/Right-Click combination, then from "Open With" choose either Excel or your Excel viewer program from the list - and place a checkmark in the box "always use this program to open this kind of file". See if that does it. Adobe Acrobat Reader doesn't convert file types (as far as I know). The full version of Adobe Acrobat does convert all sorts of file types, and has a component called "Distiller" that can convert Excel .xls files to the Adobe .pdf format. Best of luck . . . Gary |
