Do I really need XP64?

I am building a new computer as follows:
ASUS A8N-E
AMD 3800+ X2
2 GB Dual Channel Corsair XMS Twin 2X1GB RAM
WD 300 GB 3.0SATA
EVGA 7600GT VIDEO Card
2 X NEC 4330 DVD RW
Sony Floppy
Thermaltake 430W Power Supply
Thermatake Suprano Case

I have a new XP Pro 32 bit--Do I really need the 64 bit version? I am not into heavy CAD, even though I do open CAD files. I do get into some Photoshop apps, though.

If all your apps have been running fine on 32bit then NO you don't need 64..

Negative. It'll be years before XP64 is ready for prime time.... not to mention that a lot of folks, like myself, still have 16bit programs that will mostly not even run on XP64 now or in the future.

Thanks, for saving me some money and time! I won't be buying XP64 anytime soon!
