Problem With Saving Web Pages
I recently bought a computer with Windows XP. A few days ago I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox, as I already had Internet Explorer. However, after doing this a problem occurred. When I visited web sites and saved pages to ‘My Documents’, these pages were not saved as they appeared on their web site; they were saved as Notepad documents, with computer symbols etc.
I figured that this had something to do with uninstalling Mozilla Firefox, so I visited a web site offering a free download and reinstalled the software. Yet, the problem that I had in saving web pages to ‘My Documents’ persists. Can anyone advise me on how to fix this problem? |

When you save the web pages, be sure to change the "file type" in the drop down menu at the bottom to HTML file, or HTML file with images.

Hi Bozo,
Thanks for replying so quickly. I tried what you suggested, but, unfortunately, it didn't fix the problem. For your information, when saving a web document I selected the following drop down windows: 1. Save as Type: Web Page Complete (*.htm, *html) 2. Encoding: Western European Windows With regard to 'Western European Windows', I live in the United Kingdom. Thanks anyway for trying. Do you have any more ideas? donaldfleming |
