backup C drive

I hope this is the right place to discuss my problem,Which is I did a ghost image of my C drive last week and just today I have to use the restore image because after I moved some folders from one place to another and rebooted I could not get into windows for some odd reason,so I had to reinstall windows 2k,after doing so I did a search for the ghost image and was going to retore the image and I get a window that states that would overwrite the C drive and if there was no OS in the image it would not boot,,,,Does not the ghost image of the C drive contain the OS and if I go ahead and let it overwrite the drive it should boot right back up...TIA....GaryD

I hope the image is not also on the c drive.

normaly that is how it works, ghost will image everything that is on the c drive, and when you restore it, it puts everything back including the O/S
