Puzzled

I have searched on previous posts regarding the Messenger Service Pop-Up problem, which I have encountered on a number of occasions after a completely fresh install. These installations include Windows 2000, Windows 2003 Server, and Windows XP Pro. The one thing that puzzles me though is this : the computer has no internet connection nor network connection of any kind. And the hard disk has been newly formatted for the installation. The computers have never been connected to the internet at any time, nor to any other computers.

Has anyone had also this problem with off-line computers ?

Where can the problem be coming from ? The installation CD's ?

Go into Administrative Tools/Services: double click Messenger and select disable.

Messenger is enabled by default in all versions of Win2K/XP with no service packs.
