Windows XP slowed by network?
I noticed that computers I used at a several companies with networks the computers seem prone to begin slow to switch between programs, andseem slow to openi programs - even though the computers I used where almost new with plenty of memory. Meanwhile I noticed many home computers with just dial connections [or no network connections] seem pretty fast.
One MIS guy tolld me this is becuase many techs don't set XP right for network communications, and that allows network operaationa to drag down the computer speed. Does anyone know anything about this? |

Maybe the companies are running these programs from a server instead of local disk.

It's also possible that the hard drives are not running in DMA mode.
