BSOD - Constant reboot
On Boot up, receive BSOD. It goes by so fast that I cannot read message. Conputer starts to reboot over and over. How do I stop it so I can read the error message. I believe the error message code ends in 218.

Can you boot into safe mode? If you can, go into System Properties/Advanced tab/Startup and recover settings/uncheck Auto restart. Reboot and reply back with the BSOD.

As Windows was reloading, selected F8. Selected Safe Mode. Blue screen just flashed one second and machine just started from the beginning.

Normally, you'd want to access the System Properties in Windows and turn off the Auto Restart feature. But, since you can't even get it to boot, try hitting the Pause button as soon as the bsod shows and see if that freezes it so you can post the error message here.

Is this a new build, old build or store bought unit?

This is an old build. Athlon 1.4 Ghz + ASUS A7V266. DDR - Ram
I think I messed this computer up because I was trying to do another build that I am having trouble building. ( Currently with a thread in 'Building PC forum). I was using this old computer to test the video card & RAM for the other computer. After I determined those components were good, I reinserted the components back inot this computer and came up with this problem. |

If it's XP SP2, one of the options on the F8 screen is to disable restart on error - try that so you can read the bluescreen.

Same concept with 2000, but no system restore. It may be easier to do a repair reinstall of Windows. |
