I need help installing windows XP........Please
I have used windows Xp cds many times to format and install barebones windows to all types of systems......but my friend recently got a Sony desktop system and quickly (with the help of limewire) filled his HDD with crap.
So i thought I could format his system and reinstall windows. After I formated, I tried to install windows but everytime I got to the "choose which drive to install windows to" screen It would show 4 drives with no space on them.....If i hit anything it goes to a blue error screen. This is the first system I have worked with that has a SATA HDD is there something special I have to do???? Please Help

if three of the drives/partitions are not intended, then they must be deleted, and select the one that is left to install to. it was installed 4 times and filled uo the entire drive and has no room left to run anything.

The drive is totally empty. I formated it and made it all 1 partition. I believe part of the problem may be that It has a card reader installed.

Unplug the card reader while installing. If the setup program then complains it can't find any drive, you'll need to press F6 when setup loads to install SATA drivers on a floppy.
