Virtual Memory Settings
Been tweaking and upgrading my computer and have one problem left - on startup I get a message telling me that my virtual memory settings are too low and need to be adjusted. I go the necessary tab to adjust them(they are set to 0) and then restart the computer and it doesn't change.
Here are the upgrades I have done today: Upgraded processor from 1.5 to 2.4 (changed bios) Upgraded video card to ATI All in wonder AGP 2006 Had problems with the video card drivers.....spent some time in safe mode - it seems to be working fine now. Also, noticed that the intel application accelerator was not installed correctly - this came on the mobo disc - cannot get the drivers for that installed correctly either. Any ideas? Thanks - hoemee |

Thanks for the link - I added it to my favorites. I think I solved my problem. It was the Intel application accelerator. I could not load it from disc, but went to Intel's website and dowloaded/installed it. It appears to control the UDMA settings of the hard drive - it is now running at UDMA 5 mode. Now I have some tweaks to do with the video card - it doesn't seem to want to run Doom 3 - it almost loads, then it shuts down.
Thanks macko72 |
