Remove genuine validation update

Windows updated my PC with a Genuine Validation popup which keeps telling me that my version is not authentic and to purchase a license. The control panel says I can not remove this update. How do I remove it? (I bought the PC from someone online 2 yrs ago and never received a Windows CD.)

The problem is not the update, the problem is that you don't have a valid copy of Windows. Whoever you bought it from obviously installed a pirated copy of Windows. Unfortunately, even though it was the previous owner who was a thief, you are on the hook for it now. Your only choice is to buy a license.
