Seems like your first steps would be to test
1) hard drive (use the DataLifeGuard diagnostics for the Western Digital)
2) memory (you can try MemTest86+ http://www.memtest.org )
3) CD & CD-drive (try different disks and drives)

No post usually indicates hardware or Bios configuration trouble.

Best of luck

( P.S. if the system can't make it through POST even when booted to a floppy diskette - try Hal's basic troubleshooter http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=12753 )

late note: just saw another instance of that bios error at another forum - http://www.wimsbios.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7488&

I noticed that you mention having taken out the battery & placing it in again - try either going through the Bios settings with your motherboard manual in hand - step-by-step - checking each one. If no time for that - try the "Save Defaults & Exit" method. That link to the Wimbios forum suggests an IDE misconfiguration as the problem.

If you CMOS battery is the 3v 2032 coin-type battery, it should only cost about $1.50 for a new one = it could be that the old one is kaput.
