hi; guys
I'm a 1st year IT student an tryin to install XP, but after the installation it tells me dumping physical memory and then after 100counts it goes to safe mode. whats goin on and what can I do to fix it |

Sounds like it's restarting in Safe Mode after a fault/error. Use Safe Mode to access the Auto Restart on Error feature and turn it off. Control panel>system>advanced tab>Startup and Recovery>uncheck Automatically Restart
This will allow a blue screen/error messge to appear the next time it crashes. Post the error message here and we'll help sort it out. |

hi man thanx for the reply
My problem starts at he installation. It tells me It cant copy certain files. I remeber the 1st one was cant copy Pro_seg4. I thinkk that was the file that did not want to copy but there was another one aswell. can it be that the hard drive is faulty and need to be replace or is it sumthin on the mother board thats not right. SUM1 PLEASE HELP A.S.A.P. |

Its possible the cd or the drive is dirty.
Is the XP cd an original or a copy of an original?

It's the original cd. will it hepl if I try to install in onto another PC but use the same Hard drive

You likely have defective ram or a defective hard drive. You should run diagnostics on both.

Memtest86 (http://www.memtest86.com) is a good one. It catches alot of errors that other memory test programs miss.
