Access?
Hello and Good day!
I just currently installed Windows 2003 server as my domain server. All of our computer connects to this domain. I was wondering How can I give soma access to users, for example I want certain user to be able to defrag their system or even change date or time without giving the administrator rights As of right now all user that connects to the domain can't defrag or change date and time it saying they don't have administrative rights every time they try. your help is greatly appreciated thanks |

I don't use 2003 Server myself, but the tasks you refer to do seem to generally require Administrator rights. If a Group-Policy savvy tech sees your post, I'm sure they'll have some guidance to share. As far as I know, using Group Policy is the best way to have the most detailed control of access. The folks at Microsoft's TechNet are pros at this stuff - here's their Group Policy main information page --- http://technet2.microsoft.com/window...p/default.mspx
Here's a UK group's page - they also offer ebooks on the subject (for a fee). Their webpages are free to browse, however --- http://www.computerperformance.co.uk...olicy_home.htm Best of luck . . . Gary |
