I have a compaq notebook 100(made in 96 or 97) anyways, when I boot, I get this blue screen that says
Unmountable Boot Error the technical error codes are 0x000000ED (0x80DF6D98, 0xC0000006, 0x00000000,0x00000000) i WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS COULD BE FIXED? |

That error is pointing to the hard drive. Try pulling out the HDD and reseating it. If that doesn't clear the error, you may have a bad HDD.
If you Google: 0x000000ed you will find a lot of referance to the error but most seem to be for XP.

Depending on the exact model of the laptop; there may be a cover on the bottom that covers the drive bay(held in with screws). Or the HDD drive bay could be under the keyboard.
