Problem with windows or USB?
I have a dell here that is having a problem with the USB drivers, the device manager shows the drivers to be in a problem state (yellow exclamation point next to driver in device manager) So I reinstalled the drivers and I am getting the error message "There was a problem while installing this device, The drivers were not intended for this purpose ." Has anyone encountered this error before and if so what can be done about it? I also used the dell driver CD to get the drivers from so there was no doubt that they were the right ones, I also looked online for updates, neither of which semed to help at all.

You dont have to force a driver install. Right click on all flagged devices, select uninstall, then reboot the computer.
