XP MCE 2005 issues

Hullo..
I just put together my new PC last night and installed Windows Media Center 2005.
It appears there were issues with my copy (OEM - two discs and an update? disc)
I was prompted for a service pack 2 disc during installation, although all I had aside from the 2 installation discs was the included update disc, which had nothing on it marked SP2. There were a few things notably missing, which I had to hit cancel during installation to complete the process. Internet Explorer was among them. Once I got things up and running I installed proper hardware drivers and everything was smooth sailing until I tried to access the internet. Since I had no IE, I loaded Firefox from a CD and checked my network adapter settings. I was getting an orange light on the adapter (indicative of a working 100mbps connection).. However, looking at network connections, there were none. I tried 192.168.1.1 and couldn't access the router. I tried to setup the connection and everything seemed fine. I tried to setup a home network through the control panel and it didn't respond.. If its any help my board is an ASUS A8N-E. Also, the included files on the update disc were contained in a self extracting archive, so I couldn't load stuff from the cd or poke around. I'll probably have to get my hands on an SP2 disc, but I'm not sure if I have to find one specific to MCE. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance! Any help is thoroughly appreciate. I want to get this beast going.
