windows XP firewall

Is it worth using the firewall that comes with windows XP/ Or should i disable it and get another one like Zone alarm

if your willing to pay for a better firewall go for it, windows firewall is not very good

Its basically up to you. If you have good browsing habits, then the XP firewall does the trick. Many prefer other firewalls, but to be honesty, I feel that the XP firewall is just as efficient.

I do believe, however, that Zone Alarm has one added feature - outbound activity monitoring, or something along those lines. PErhaps someone else can expand upon that.

ZoneAlarm also monitors all outgoing programs.
What that means is that if you get some backdoor trojan, or anything else that wants to call home, it's going to block it.
Also, unlike the XP firewall, ZoneAlarm can't be turned off by malware.

Hi I did use Norton Internet Security but found this to be a system hog moved to Zone Alarm Pro witch works brilliant and Zone Labs keeps my Firewall updated, defiantly worth it !.

The XP firewall was greatly improved with SP2. The original and SP1 firewall was pretty bad.
