First Stop Error Ever (BSoD), XP

For 10 years i have managed to avoid the 'Blue Screen of Death'. thats 4 PCs and a laptop in that time. I have just got my first

Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

and the stop error codes are

Stop: 0x00000050 (0xE128A000, 0x00000001, 0x8062D5B2, 0x00000001)
This is on my brand new self build (specs in signature). The computer has worked like a dream for the last 5 weeks. All that has happened today is I have installed Norton 2006, Adobe CS2 v9.0 and SiSandra. I updated Norton 2006 and ran a full scan - no problems found. I also updated CS2 and no probs after that either. Finally I installed SiSandra and set it to do a complete system check and generate a full report. I went away whilst it carried this out and when I came back is when I noticed the stop error.

Ive tried booting in safe mode but that is no good either.

Can anyone help? I am running XP with SP 2

Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems (e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card).

I'd run memtest86+ first - www.memtest.org. Then I'd get rid of Norton if you can get it to boot into Windows so you can uninstall it. They haven't had stable unobtrusive software for a few years now.

Thanks glc. I ran memtest (didnt realise it took so long) but after 7 tests and 60 hours, there were obvious errors. I removed a stick of memory and the pc booted up without a problem. Once again thanks for the advice
