Validation problems
our local bank had a Dell computer that was used strictly as a DOS machine until now. It originally came with a Windows CD, but it had never been installed. They asked me to nstall it.
I wiped out the DOS partition and installed Windows. It's working fine, but the CD was a very early version of Windows XP, so I tried to update. However, it said it could not validate the copy of Windows. There is a Windows sticker on the case along with a key code, but it never asked me to enter it. What do I have to do to get this validated so I can install the updates? |

Have you tried installing SP2 and then running the updates: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...n#Instructions
