Technicalities in Windows XP licences question?
That's one technical title lol. Anyways.. I had a Dell 8300 and the mobo went bad. So I built a new computer around the old 3.0GHz P4ht Processor. Then of course the drives and other reusables I transferred over too. I was able by using my hard-drive to still use the current XP install which is register to me when I bought my Dell. After building my computer it gave me the I whole lock out at sign on bit. I called Microsoft and after explaining that I replaced every thing but my processor they set me all up. Now questing is... after this novel, am I still in the bounds of my user agreement? If I re-did my computer with a fresh install from my Dell XP disc will it work?
I would think since my Dell is no longer and it's piece's sent all around the US "ebay" lol It should be ok. Thanks

Chances are that the XP disc from your Dell will only install on Dell hardware. Even if it isn't tied to the hardware, Microsoft has changed the OEM license agreement so that you can no longer transfer an OEM copy of XP between computers.
