How to uninstall WinXP SP2?

How can we uninstall or remove WinXP SP2 from a machine running WinXP?

I was reading about it in Microsoft Website ,it said that we can do it in Add/Remove program in Control Panel by puting check in "Show updates" and remove SP2.

But I donot see SP2 in it?

Can anyone help me?

SP2 is removeable if it was added as an update. However, if you installed a copy of XP that already contained SP2, I don't think you can uninstall it. Why do you want to remove SP2?

Also, if you revert to XP SP1. Microsoft is dropping support for XP SP1 installs in October.

Only time I know of was when the drive wasn't properly perpared before upgrading to SP2. Best to make sure there is no Spyware/Adware/Malware of any kind. Running Adaware, Spybot and Ewido will clean things out. Also make sure the system is virus/trojan free. Then use Disk Cleanup to delete all Temp Files, Temporary Intenet Files, Recycle Bin, etc. If the pc has multiple user profiles, run the scans on each profile. Finally, Defragment the hard drive just before the SP2 install. I've followed this technique for the last couple years now and haven't had a single problem with an SP2 upgrade.
