Hi Evo
Do you have an older version of the Real Player? I've heard that the most recent versions aren't as buggy (and don't misbehave as much with the near-spyware problem). Here's a link to sysinfo.org's information for that process. http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php?filter=realsched There's a link in the sysorg info box to instructions on how to disable the process. You'll notice that several malware programs use the filename as a cover - so you'll want to run some scans - try in both Normal and in Safe Mode - try both virus and spyware scans. You can check to see exactly where the Startup item is being "called" from, and where the executable is located, by going to Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information -- and under the "Software Environment" category, select "Startup" -> this will yield a list in the right-hand pane, and there is a column that tells where the program starts from (what key and value in the Registry, or what item in a Start folder, etc), and where the program's executable is stored. Best of luck . . . Gary |

You might want to consider removing Real Player and all it's bloat from your system entirely. Then use Real Alternative instead.
