Manual uninstall from windows (windows wont uninstall bf2)
Ello all, I've got a little issue.
The patch for BF2 wasn't working, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall the game. I thought I had the game uninstalled, so I tried to reinstall, and the installshield crashed. I then went to uninstall the game from the add and remove programs in control panel, but that wont work (the load bar pops up then spontaniously closes with no message) I deleted the BF2 folder, yet the system wont recognize that the game isn't installed. Any way to manually uninstall it, so I can try to reinstall it? Any help appreciated thanks. |

Hi rabidsheep
1) If you haven't restarted your system since you tried the uninstall, try rebooting. 2) If Battlefield 2 still shows as not having uninstalled, try one more time from Add/Remove, & restart. 3) If it is still there, download and install CCleaner ( http://www.download.com/CCleaner/300...ml?tag=lst-0-1 ) 4) From Windows Explorer, find the Battlefield 2 folders in "Program Files", and delete them with by pressing shift-DEL (both keys at the same time - we don't want to waste time filling & emptying your Recycle Bin with huge files) 5) Run CCleaner. 6) Try reinstalling your game. That usually works. Best of luck . . . Gary [PS ... do make sure that is only the Battlefield folders that are selected when you press shift-delete!] |

And just to add something on Garry's post you will have to use regedit and delete all game enteries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software
And you can check this folders: C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data ; C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Local Settings\Application Data to delete it manualy!!!
