change my documents link in my computer
the other day, out of nowhere, the my documents link in my computer changed from c:\docs and settings\craig\documents to c:\docs and settings\local service\documents
the shortcut on the start bar and on my desktop still points to the correct location. is there anyway for me to switch teh location back? any idea on how this could have happened? ran virus/spyware/etc and nothing turned up thanks craig

Right click My Documents -> Properties then change the target field.

this is in the My Computer window, not a shortcut. when you open up my computer and have all your discs as well as shared documents and my documents - its there. the other shortcuts still work fine, though. thanks

Have you checked:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocFolderPaths to see if the folder paths are correct? If not change them and reboot. |

Statica, let me just say, you are my hero. this was bugging enough to warrant a reinstall, and you just saved me. thanks so much
