Exclamation Microsoft Outlook Send/Receive Problem

My coworker is having a problem with her Microsoft Outlook. She is able to send e-mails but not receive them. I checked all of her settings but haven't found anything different than anybody else on the server (we all connect to the same server but nobody else has this problem). There are no error messages whatsoever, it just seems to hang on the receive process (in details it says 'processing'). Any suggestions as to what I can do to help her? Thanks!

All service patches been applied?
How large is her .pst file?
Anything stuck in the Outbox?

There could be something hanging it up in the inbox on the *server* - is there a webmail interface you can log into and check it out? There might be an e-mail up there with a huge attachment or something with viruses.

Has it ever worked for this user? If so, backstep the changes to made until you isolate the problem.

She is using Outlook 2003, all patches are up to date (as far as I can tell), I don't know how/where to check on the .pst file. Right now she is up and running again, I'm thinking that it may be that someone sent her something too large that 'clogged' up the server for her. Is there a way that I can create a rule so that this doesn't occur again?

No, that's what webmail interfaces are for. All the rules in the world don't help because the mail still has to download.

Send a message via ICQ to JUNG2
GLC;
What you saying is that if a large file has been sent to you and your outlook can't receive that mail, Your still be able to download that mail via webmail?

Thanks

You can either try to download it or delete it off the server.

Outlook hangs for me every couple of weeks -- I have to go on webmail and delete all my spam, and then it starts working again.
